Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. Osage County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own system.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained so that we can respond. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may collect routine technical information about that visit:
- Page-view timestamps
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- IP address assigned to the device
- Visited pages and time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help aggregate traffic, such as which Osage County resource pages receive visits and where sessions end. Browser controls can block cookies, though parts of the site may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a search request to the selected partner service
- Maintain the site's operation and page speed
- Diagnose and repair technical problems
- Measure which pages visitors use
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Osage County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It identifies official routes such as the Osage County Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS, MACHS, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not compiled into a consumer report or a third-party criminal record, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention rules, and sharing practices govern any information submitted through those tools. We do not control those practices, so review the applicable partner policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Osage County Sheriff, Missouri Case.net, state agencies, legal resources, or third-party search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Analytics services that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Advertising networks that place ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor provided such data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary with the law that applies to a visitor. Missouri's Sunshine Law, Chapter 610, includes the governmental-record access policy in RSMo §610.011; it governs government records rather than this private site's visitor data. RSMo §610.120 and RSMo §43.540 separately regulate access to closed criminal records and official repository review. Subject to applicable privacy or consumer-protection law, you may:
- Request deletion of personal data we retain
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Opt out of eligible processing when the law provides that right
Updates to This Policy
